Peaches: A Member’s Story
Peaches came to us in 2017, after a knee replacement surgery resulted in an infection. A permanent spacer was placed in the area, making it impossible for Peaches to bend her knee. This led to a confluence of events—increased stress, anxiety, and depression and excess weight gain, which put greater strain on her health.
Incidentally, the post-op knee infection that brought our member in was caused by poor oral hygiene. Plaque bacteria made its way into Peaches’ blood stream, causing the infection.
Under the care of her core care team, led by Melissa McClain, Peaches has already lost 120 pounds and improved her diet in preparation for bariatric surgery.
