Shelter, food, sleep, and clothing: these life essentials hold up the pyramid of human needs. Everything else—even healthcare—is ineffective without them. Also known as the social determinants of health (SDoH), these disparities are at the root of health inequity, and they must be addressed to stanch the tide of sickness and disease among our most vulnerable citizens.
Where will I sleep tonight? How will I get there? What—and when—will I eat? Who can help me? These questions are common for our members, and our solutions address housing stability, transportation, food security, community resources, education and employment readiness, and more. We aim to take care of the whole person.
